Smrithi Suresh is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer based in Santa Clara, California. She commenced her formal training in the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam at the age of four, under the tutelage of Guru Suganda Sreenath, the founder and artistic director of Jayendra Kalakendra. Her passion for dance was inspired by her aunt, Kirti Ramgopal, known as Abhinaya Bharathi in India. Smrithi completed her Arangetram in August 2017, an event held under the esteemed auspices of NAATYAACHAARYA Sri V.P. Dhanajanyan and Smt. Shanta Dhananjayan, founders of Bharatakalanjali and recipients of the Padmabhushan award. Throughout her training, Smrithi has also participated in workshops led by several eminent gurus, including Padma Shri. Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, Dr. Anita Vallabh, Smt. Shaly Vijayan, and Smt. Divya Ram. She has performed at numerous cultural events across California, such as the Natyanjali festival in Sacramento, Arudra Natyanjali at the Livermore Temple, the Shiva Murugan Temple in Concord, and the Pleasant Hill Jazz festival. Notably, she also performed at the prestigious "Panchamukhi-Five Facets of Music" at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival, with choreography by Guru Suganda Sreenath and Smt. Sugi Shiva. Smrithi is a co-founder of Fuchsia Dance, a platform dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation among dancers. She has been recognized for her choreographic talents, receiving the National Award of Excellence, the National PTA Award, and several State and Regional Awards for her dance choreography. Additionally, she was an IndianRaga Fellow. As of a 2018 report, she was pursuing a degree in nanoengineering as a junior at the University of California, San Diego.
