Smt. Jeyaverni Jeganathan is a distinguished figure in Indian classical dance, widely recognized for her artistic prowess and dedication as both a performer and an educator. She is a prominent name within the dance communities across the United Kingdom, where she has established a reputation for her exceptional skill, innovative choreography, and passionate teaching. Her journey in dance commenced in Sri Lanka, where she received her initial training under the tutelage of Smt. Dwaraka Keetheswaran. Smt. Jeganathan further solidified her foundational knowledge by completing her teacher’s grade certification with the North Ceylon Oriental Music Society Board. Her talent garnered national recognition, leading her to earn gold medals in Bharatha Natyam competitions. She has graced prestigious stages globally, including performances with the BBC and in North America. Demonstrating her versatility and profound understanding of classical dance forms, she also undertook training in Kathakali under the guidance of Smt. Padmini Selvandrakumar and Sri Kalaikovil Vel Anandan. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Smt. Jeyaverni has played a pivotal role in advancing Indian classical dance in London. She currently mentors over 80 students through SANGEETHA OF THE UK, the Croydon Academy of Eastern Arts, and her own institution, Ponsita School of Dance. Her ability to inspire and cultivate talent has been instrumental in the success of many aspiring dancers, establishing her as an invaluable mentor.
