Smt. Rani Sunil is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and the founder and artistic director of the School of Indian Dance, a prominent institution in the Bay Area, California. She began her dance training at the age of four, learning from highly respected classical dance teachers including Kalamandalam Raji, Kalakshetra Sanal Kumar, and Regatta Girija Chandran. Smt. Rani Sunil holds a Master's degree in Bharathanatyam from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. She is proficient in various Indian classical dance forms, including Bharathanatyam, Kuchupudi, and Mohiniyattam. Her early career saw her participate in numerous competitions, earning many awards and accolades. She has showcased her talent by presenting these dance forms on India's premier television channels such as Doordarshan, Asianet, and Sun TV. Her performances have graced stages in India, the UAE, and the United States. In 2010, driven by a passion to promote Indian culture and tradition and to foster artistic talent, Smt. Rani Sunil established the School of Indian Dance in San Jose, California. The school, with a strong foundation in the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam, focuses on nurturing students in both the technical and expressive aspects of the art form. As its Artistic Director, she is dedicated to training young children and adults, emphasizing cultural identity, artistic excellence through rigorous training, and personal growth through mindful mentorship. Apart from her dance career, Smt. Rani Sunil also holds a Master's degree in Psychology, a profession she relinquished to dedicate herself full-time to her passion for dance.
