Sourav Samanta is an Indian classical dancer and the Artistic Director of Saaranga - Institute of Odissi Dance in Kolkata. He initially received training in Bharatanatyam before specializing in Odissi. His Odissi training was under the tutelage of Guru Sabarnik De and later Guru Sutapa Talukdar. Samanta has performed in numerous national and international events, showcasing his expertise in Odissi. He is also a choreographer, creating dance pieces for his institute's performances. Beyond performing and choreographing, Samanta is actively involved in the dance community as a teacher and has served as a judge for dance competitions. His institute, Saaranga, offers training in Odissi, including special batches for young children, aiming to foster an appreciation for Indian classical dance from an early age.
