🪔 About
Srishti Debroy is an Indian classical Odissi dancer, recognized as a child prodigy in the art form. She began her journey in dance at the tender age of three, and was reportedly reciting bols (rhythmic syllables) by the time she was one-and-a-half years old. Srishti is a disciple of her mother and guru, Arunima Ghosh, who has been instrumental in grooming her as a budding soloist in Odissi. Her dedication and strict training are evident in her performances, characterized by neat and precise technique, expressive abhinaya (facial expressions), and rhythmic footwork. Srishti's performances have been noted for her mature presentation, precise hastas (hand gestures), and graceful movements. At the age of six, in November 2019, Srishti presented a Basanta pallavi in Odissi, choreographed by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, showcasing remarkable confidence. She made her solo debut, or rangapravesham, on November 26, 2022, at the age of nine, under the aegis of Manasija. This performance in Delhi featured compositions such as a Ganesh vandana, a batu, 'Madhurashtakam', and 'Dashavatar', with choreography for some pieces by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. The event was graced by notable gurus including Ranjana Gauhar, Sharon Lowen, and Madhavi Mudgal. Her father is Sanjit Debroy.
