Sudarsana Kumar hails from a family of artists in Kerala, India. He began his initial training in Bharatanatyam dance at the age of ten under his brother Sri.Anilkumar. He then further deepened his skills at the renowned dance university Kalakshetra in Chennai where he received excellent training in various aspects of dance and music under the guidance of eminent teachers. In 1996 he graduated in Indian dance. As a member of the Kalakshetra dance troupe he has performed in many Indian cities and abroad. He extends his service to the art field as a performer, composer, singer, choreographer and instructor. He is the artistic director of the "Darshan institute of Indian dance" Berlin. Sudarsana kumar gives dance courses and performs in all of Germany as well as Europe.
