Indian Classical dance artiste Sujatha Suresh has dedicated her life to showcasing Indian dance forms globally. A product of St. Francis College, Secunderabad, she achieved 'A' graded accreditation as an artist with the Indian television network Doordarshan, Hyderabad. Sujatha Suresh was an All India Gold Medalist in both 1982 and 1983. Her extensive performance career includes over 350 stages, encompassing various Indian associations, cultural festivals, child-care societies, The Alliance française, and the South Asian Association at Hamilton, Ontario. Sujatha's initial dance training began under the late Guru Chandrasekharan, a former professor at Vishwabharati University, Shantiniketan, Kolkata, India, in Trivandrum. She furthered her training under Guru V S Ramamurthi and Manjula Ramaswami of Shri Rama Nataka Niketan, Hyderabad. Additionally, she learned the Mohiniyattam dance form from Kalamandalam Sumathi. For nearly two decades, Sujatha served as a trainer and mentor to children in the Middle East and Canada, and now proudly observes her students conducting dance classes and promoting art awareness across continents. She continues her intense pursuit of knowledge in classical dance forms. Currently, she works as a teacher in the Halton School Board and serves as the Cultural Secretary to the South Asian Association in Hamilton, Ontario. Sujatha Suresh is the founder and teacher of Swaramudra Dance Academy, which offers classes in Hamilton, Burlington, and Mississauga.
