Surya S. Nair is a Kathakali performer based in Delhi, India. She began her journey in Kathakali around 2009, alongside her sister Chandra S. Nair, learning the art form from Kalamandalam Amaljith and Thiruvattar Jagadeesan. Through her Kathakali lessons, she also learned Malayalam and some Sanskrit. Surya S. Nair was recognized as the best student of the International Centre for Kathakali (ICK) in 2018. She has performed at various prestigious venues and festivals, including the Annual Kathakali Festival at the International Centre for Kathakali, Vyloppilli Samskriti Bhavan in Trivandrum, Kerala, and the M.K.K. Smaraka Kendram for the Pakalkkury Kathakali Club in Kerala. In February 2019, she mesmerized audiences with her Kathakali performance at the 'Sopan Festival for Young Musicians and Dancers'. She also performed at the Sangeet Natak Academy in 2018 as part of the 'yog parv'. Surya S. Nair has portrayed significant characters such as Hanuman in 'Kalyanasougandhikam,' a performance that earned her appreciation from senior artist Sadanam Balakrishnan.
