Mudaliar's career was notably marked by his close and enduring association with the legendary Bharatanatyam exponent, T. Balasaraswati. He, along with his brother Munusamy Mudaliar, was affectionately known in dance circles by the appellation "Aapila". His artistic legacy was carried forward by his nephew, Kanchipuram G. Ekambaram, who himself became a veteran dance mridangam vidwan. Ekambaram notably inherited and further developed the "highly refined touches" of his uncles, including Kuppuswamy Mudaliar, in his mridangam playing.
