Tankeswar Hazarika Borbayan is a distinguished Indian classical dance figure, widely recognized as a renowned exponent and Guru of the Sattriya dance tradition. Hailing from Assam, he has dedicated his life to the teaching and performance of Sattriya, one of India's eight major classical dance forms, which originated in the monasteries (Sattras) of Assam in the 15th century. His significant contributions to promoting and preserving this art form have earned him national acclaim. He is also described as a dance drama performance exponent. His commitment to Sattriya dance has played a vital role in its contemporary recognition and practice. He conducts workshops on Sattriya dance, such as one held in Titabor.
