Kamalanathan is the founder and head of Sri Natya Lakshana Kshetra, an institution dedicated to Indian classical dance. She imparts training in Bharatanatyam and has also announced Mohiniyattam classes in Colombo. She acknowledges Dr. Sreelatha Vinod as her Guru. Through her academy, she fosters a guru-shishya bond, even offering online training to students globally.
