Dr. Tina Tambe is a distinguished Indian classical Kathak dancer, teacher, choreographer, and researcher based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is recognized as one of today's accomplished Kathak performers, known for her unique style that blends the delicacy of the Lucknow Gharana, the vibrant energy of the Jaipur Gharana, and the excellence of the Raigadh Gharana. Her training began under Smt. Ranjana Thakur, followed by Dr. Suchitra Harmalkar, and advanced studies with Pandita Uma Dograji, a leading Kathak exponent of the Jaipur Gharana and a Gandabandh Shagird of Pt. Durga Lalji. She has also attended workshops with eminent gurus such as Pt. Birju Maharaj, Shree Pratap Pawar, Shree Rajendra Gangani, and Late Pt. Kelucharan Mohapatra for Abhinaya. Academically, Dr. Tambe holds a Nritya Alankar, a nine-year diploma in Kathak from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. She earned an M.A. in Kathak from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, securing the first position, and was conferred a Ph.D. in dance for her thesis on "Dance elements in the poetry of Meera – in context of Kathak." She is an "A" grade artist of Doordarshan. As a performer, Dr. Tambe has captivated audiences across India and internationally in countries including the United Kingdom, Greece, Japan, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. She has choreographed various thematic dance productions, including "Rasanayika," "Ritu-Shringar: A Saga of Seasons," "Ashtanayika-Ashtataal," "Pratikriti: Kathak in Hindi Cinema," "Yugma," "Krishnarpanamastu," "Draupadi ki Pratigya," and "Shakti." She is the Artistic Director of Ninad Center for Performing Arts in Mumbai, which she established in 2006, where she imparts Kathak training to over 170 students. She is also the Founder Secretary of Ninad Shastriya Sangeet Samiti, organizing the Ninad Concert Series since 2010 to promote classical art forms. Dr. Tambe co-authored the book "Kathak Shastra Darshan-2." Awards & Honours: Madhya Pradesh Kala Ratna Award (2022), Chakradhar Samman (2019), Pt. Kartikram Kalanidhi Puraskar (2016), Nupur Kala Ratna Puraskar, Kumar Sanu Award for excellence in the field of Dance, Scholarship from Department of Culture, Nalanda Nritya Nipun Award (2009), SHRINGARMANI (2003), First prize in Classical Dance, West Zone Youth Festival (1998), First prize in Classical Dance, West Zone Youth Festival (2000), Represented West Zone in National Youth Festival (1999), Third Prize for solo classical Dance, National Youth Festival (2001), Third Prize in Akhil Bhartiya Kiran Sangeet Samaroh (2003), Second Prize in State Youth Festival of Madhya Pradesh, "A" grade artist.
