Vedantam Radhesyam is a distinguished figure in Indian classical dance, renowned for his mastery of Kuchipudi. Born into a traditional Kuchipudi family in Kuchipudi village to Vedantam Suryanarayana, he began his dance training at a very young age, upholding his family's rich artistic heritage. He received extensive training in dance and music from a long list of eminent gurus, including Vedantam Parvateesam, Vedantam Seetha Rama Sastry, Vempati Pedda Satyam, Vempati Chinna Satyam, P.V.G. Krishna Sarma, Y. Seetha Ramanjaneyulu, Satyasundararamaiah, Bokka Kumaraswami, and Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma. Vedantam Radhesyam holds a Diploma (Honours) in Kuchipudi Dance and has dedicated more than three decades to performing and teaching the art form. He has performed in over 2000 dance programs across India and internationally. His performances are characterized by simplicity and effortlessness, coupled with a natural flair for singing, dancing, and nattuvangam. He has portrayed numerous significant roles in Kuchipudi dance dramas, including Prahalda and Hiranya Kasyapa in 'Bhaktaprahlada', Chitrlekha in 'Ushaparinayam', and various characters like Bhama, Lord Krishna, and Madhavi in 'Bhamakalapam'. As an esteemed educator, he has imparted training to a multitude of students, many of whom have become illustrious artists, including recipients of Sangeet Natak Akademi and Ustad Bismillah Khan awards. He served as the Incharge Principal at Sri Siddhendra Kalakshetra Pranganam, Telugu University. His contributions to Kuchipudi have been widely recognized with several accolades. In 1995, he was honored with the "Kala Neerajana" award by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, followed by the "Vishesha Puraskar" from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in 2008. In 2014, Vedantam Radhesyam received the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his outstanding contribution to Kuchipudi dance. He has also directed television programs and appeared in feature films, and is frequently sought after as a judge for various cultural organizations and television channels.
