Vidyuth Pasumarthi was introduced to the classical Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam at the tender age of six by his mother, who is also the founder of the Srividya Dance School. His early exposure to dance laid the foundation for his artistic journey. From 2019 onwards, he has been undergoing rigorous training in Bharatanatyam under the esteemed guidance of Smt. Viraja and Sri. Shyamjith Kiran, who have not only provided him with a strong technical foundation but also instilled in him a profound passion for the art form. Beyond Bharatanatyam, Pasumarthi is also expanding his musical knowledge by learning the mridangam, a percussion instrument, from Guru Ravindrabharathy Sridharan, the founder of Nadopasana Academy of Fine Arts. This parallel learning has enriched his understanding of dance by providing insights into the intricate aspects of jathi and talam compositions. Pasumarthi has actively showcased his talent through numerous performances at various dance productions, temple and cultural events, and charity fundraisers, both within the United States and internationally. Notable among his performances is his participation in the annual Cleveland Thyagaraja Aaradhana and his work with the acclaimed Sivapadam dance troupe. He is deeply involved in the vibrant Bay Area dance and music community, where he frequently volunteers at events and has garnered several prizes in dance competitions. As a dedicated member of his gurus' dance company, Tridha, he performed as one of the main lead characters in their modern Bharatanatyam production, "Once upon a time," which was inspired by Disney stories. He aspires to further contribute to Tridha's growing presence in promoting Bharatanatyam across India, the US, and beyond. Vidyuth Pasumarthi celebrated a significant milestone in his dance journey with his Bharatanatyam arangetram, which took place on October 19, 2025, at the Cubberley Theater in Palo Alto, California. The event was graced by the presence of Padmasri Awardee Sri. Sadanam Balakrishnan Sir, who served as the esteemed Chief Guest, offering inspiration and blessings for Pasumarthi's future endeavors. In addition to his training and performances, Pasumarthi is also an active and diligent teaching assistant at the Sri Vidya Dance School, further contributing to the propagation of this classical art form.
