Dr. Yamini Saripalli, born in Dallas, Texas, is a prominent Kuchipudi dancer and a practicing dermatologist in the Washington D.C. area. She received her initial exposure to Kuchipudi dance through Smt. Sujatha Vinjamuri. Since 1995, she has been extensively trained under the legendary Padmabhushan guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam and his son, Sri Vempati Ravi Shankar, at the Kuchipudi Art Academy in Chennai, India, for over two decades. Yamini has performed with Dr. Chinna Satyam's troupe across the United States and India. As a solo artist, she has graced prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Milapfest in Manchester, England, Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad, India, and has been a regular performer in the Chennai Dance and Music Season. Her performances have also taken her to Mexico, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Dr. Saripalli is dedicated to propagating the ancient art form of Kuchipudi through performing and teaching. She founded and leads Kuchipudi Kala Nilayam, a Maryland-based non-profit organization focused on practicing, presenting, and promoting excellence in Kuchipudi through classes, lecture demonstrations, workshops, and performances in the USA and abroad. Additionally, she has studied Carnatic vocal music since 2001 under gurus like Smt. Vidya Parthasarathy, Sri DK Nagarajan, and currently Sri Bhagavatula Seetharama Sarma, director of Kalapeetham, Chennai. Awards & Honours: Kala Vagvisvarupini (2024).
