🪔 About
Yeleswarapu Sarvani, a fourth-generation Kuchipudi artist, hails from the Kuchipudi village in Andhra Pradesh, a place deeply associated with the classical dance form. She belongs to one of the ten families in the village dedicated to preserving and propagating Kuchipudi. Sarvani began her journey in dance at the tender age of three, with her formal training commencing in Class II with Gajja Pooja. Despite initial discouragement from her father, also a Kuchipudi teacher, who was concerned about the financial viability of a career in dance, Sarvani remained steadfast in her passion. She pursued an MBA and now dedicates her life to Kuchipudi, teaching at her father's school. For Sarvani, Kuchipudi is a profound expression of devotion to Lord Shiva, an art form that demands a lifetime of learning and dedication. She has performed at events such as the Young Talents Fest, jointly organized by Bharat Bhavan, Kerala State Youth Welfare Board, and Samsiddhi in Kochi.
