1974
Witnessed Balasaraswati perform — Saw Balasaraswati perform in Berkeley, California.
1976
Began dance lessons with Balasaraswati — Started taking Bharatanatyam lessons with Balasaraswati in the US.
1986
Began teaching dance — Started teaching dance in the SF Bay Area (based on 'over 40 years' teaching experience as of 2026).
Awarded National Endowment for the Humanities grant — Received a grant to research mythology and study with Smt. Shyamala in India.
Taught at Park Day School — Served as a classroom teacher for 30 years and established a Bharatanatyam program at Park Day School in Oakland.
2016
Began assisting Aniruddha Knight — Started making frequent trips to Chennai, India, to assist Aniruddha Knight in teaching dance.
