Leda Shantala is a Greek choreographer, dancer, and guru of Indian classical dance, Bharatanatyam, credited with introducing the art form to Greek audiences. 1983
Arangetram — First public performance at the Anantapadmanabha Swami temple in Adyar, Chennai.
1985
Founded Mandiram Cultural Centre — Institution for research in ancient Greek and Indian art, teaching yoga and Bharatanatyam.
1987
Founded Leda Shantala Dance Theatre — Company for intercultural productions blending Bharatanatyam with contemporary dance.
2003
Founded Shantom House of Culture — All activities of Mandiram Centre moved to Shantom, which hosts the only professional Bharatanatyam Academy in Greece.
2022
Recognized as one of "60 Legends" — By EICBI for her role in establishing relations between India and Europe.
