Mrs. Gayathri Thishanthan is an eminent artist and a popular Baratha Naatya Dance Teacher in Switzerland. She is the Managing Director and founder of the Baratha Tharshana Dance Academy and the Baratha Tharshana foundation. Originally from Kalviyankadu, Manippaai, Jaffna, SriLanka, she began learning Baratha Naatyam at age three. Her gurus include Mrs. Rajakumary Sithamparam (1982), Mrs. Subithira Kirupaharan (1996), Mrs. Chandra Thandayuthapillai (1998), Mr. Adayar K. Latchumanan (2000), and Mrs. Naahamany Srinivasarav (2002). She performed her Arangettam in 2002 in Tamil Nadu, India, under Mrs. Nahamany Srinivasarav. She holds a Baratha Naatya Degree from the State College of Music in Tamil Nadu (awarded 'Aadal Kalaimani') and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Tamil Language from the University of Chennai. In 2019, she was awarded 'Narthana Viththahi' by Kalaapooshanam Mrs. Subithira Kirupaharan. She established the Baratha Tharshana Dance Academy in 2004 at LUZERN, Switzerland.
