Priya Pawar, an internationally acclaimed Indian classical dancer, was born and raised in Lucknow, India. Her journey in dance began at the age of four with Kathak training at the Bhatkande Maris Music College. Began Kathak training — At Bhatkande Maris Music College, Lucknow, at age four.

1957

Received 'Nritya Vishard' (BA) — At age ten from Bhatkande Maris Music College, Lucknow.

1967

Received 'Nritya Varidhi' (MA) and Government of India scholarship — From Bharatiya Kala Kendra, New Delhi.

1969

Toured internationally with Pratap Pawar — Throughout the USA, South America, Europe, and Asia.

1970

Solo tour of East and West Africa

1972

Rated as 'Top Grade' artist — By the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

1980

Co-founded Triveni dance company — Served as co-director and key performer until 1992.

1992

Launched solo career and formed Pushpalata Dance Company — Based in London.

1992

Established Pushpalata Academy of Dance & Music — In Faridabad, India.

1998

Established Pushpalata Asociación para la Difusión del Arte de India — In Madrid, Spain.

2004

Worked with CICD on 'Milap' project — Collaborating with her Kathak Odissi dance style and performed at the Phoenix Theatre in Leicester.

2023

Received Sera Bengli award — From United Kingdom Bengali Convention (UKBC).
