Sonali Toppur is an accomplished Kathak dancer, teacher, and performer based in the United States. She began her Kathak training at the age of 4.5 with Chhandam, an institution now known as the Leela Youth Dance Company. Journey Timeline

Began Kathak training — Started studying Kathak at approximately 4.5 years old with Chhandam.
2003
Joined Chhandam Youth Dance Company (CDYC) — Joined at the age of 9, in 3rd grade.
2009
Began teaching Kathak — Started teaching, including at Leela Academy.
2013
Graduated high school and pursued higher education — Graduated high school in June and enrolled in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle. Performed a traditional solo in Palo Alto, CA.
2023
Apprenticeship with Seibi Lee — Apprenticed with Seibi Lee to develop a Ganesh-themed solo performance.
