Parijata Performance Projects, led by choreographer Parijat Desai, creates and performs hybrid dance that draws on contemporary, Indian classical, and Gujarati folk dance, martial arts, and theater to express a South Asian American experience. Founded in 2000 by Parijat Desai, the company is based in New York City. It also includes the "Dance In The Round" program, which shares garba and raas, circle dances from Gujarat, India.
