Shakti School of Bharata Natyam is a premier institution of Bharata Natyam in Southern California. Founded in 1977 by Artistic Director Viji Prakash, it teaches the Thanjavur style of Bharata Natyam. The school has provided instruction to over 2,000 students and includes the Shakti Dance Company as its performing division.
