Akhila Ballari

Akhila Ballari is an emerging Kuchipudi dancer based in the United States. She commenced her Kuchipudi training at the age of six under the tutelage of Smt. Neelima Gaddamanugu at the Nataraja Natyanjali Dance Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout her years of training, she performed various lead roles in the academy's dance productions. Akhila made her solo dance debut, known as Rangapravesham, on May 12, 2018, showcasing 12 years of extensive training and dedication. Her performance included traditional Kuchipudi pieces such as Ananda Nartana Ganapathym, Kamakshi Stuthi, Kulukaga Nadavaro, Tharangam (Marakatha), Padam (Yevvadey Vadu), Shankara Shri Giri, Thillana, and Mangalam. In 2021, she furthered her credentials by receiving certification in Kuchipudi from the Sampada Silicon Andhra Dance Academy. Currently, Akhila is pursuing her professional journey by training under Acharya Yamini Kalluri at the Kritya School of Dance and joined the Kritya Dance Ensemble in early 2025. She has also contributed to the community through her dance, performing in fundraising events for the Hanuman Temple in Alpharetta and the Shantiniketan Rehabilitation Center in India. Additionally, she has performed alongside renowned classical dancers at Antaram, a classical roadshow led by Suhasini Maniratnam. As of May 2018, Akhila was a rising second-year Computer Science major at Georgia Tech.
