Arshia Sharma is an emerging Kathak dancer based in the greater Boston area, USA. She began her Kathak journey at the age of three, introduced to the art form by her mother, Vandana Sharma. Her early training took place at the Chhandika Institute of Kathak Dance under the tutelage of Guru Gretchen Hayden. During her middle school years, she further honed her skills with esteemed teachers Archana Gurur and Himanshi Patel. For the past six years, Arshia has been a dedicated disciple of Vidushi Moumita Banerjee, the artistic director of Tarana School of Kathak. On June 30, 2024, Arshia Sharma presented her Kathak Rang Manch Pravesh at Littleton High School, Massachusetts. This event was notable for being the first-ever Kathak Rang Manch Pravesh in the U.S. where all participating singers and musicians, including the graduating artist, were first-generation U.S.-born Indian Americans. Arshia is currently a student at Northeastern University, pursuing a degree in Business with a focus on Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about storytelling through Kathak, particularly narratives from Shrimad Bhagavatam focusing on Lord Krishna. Beyond her dance, Arshia is an advocate for social causes, including women's empowerment and environmental conservation, and has co-founded "Arshia's Jewels" with her mother. She is scheduled to be a featured dance artist at the 22nd Annual Woman of the Year Awards Gala on March 8, 2025.
