Dr. Biswajit Dash is an accomplished Indian classical Odissi dancer, exponent, teacher, and choreographer, recognized for his dedication to the art form. He received his early training in Odissi under Guru Prahallad Biswal at Tribeni Kala Parishad in Rourkela. He further honed his skills as a disciple of the distinguished maestro Padmavibhushan Late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, and also received intense training and guidance from noted gurus like Guru Ratikant Mohapatra and Smt. Sujata Mohapatra. Dash has been an active performer, teacher, and choreographer for over two decades, captivating audiences across Odisha and India with his performances, workshops, and lecture-demonstrations. He is a 'B' Grade artist of Doordarshan Bhubaneswar and has performed at numerous prestigious festivals, including Shrikshetra Utsav (Puri), Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Purush Dance Festival, International Odissi Dance Festival, Sri Jayadeva Rashtriya Samaroha, and Nupuradhwani (Mumbai). His performances have been noted for their excellent delineation of themes, facial expressions, and body movements. Beyond his performing career, Dr. Biswajit Dash is also a Dance Therapist, trained under Dr. A. V. Satyanarayana, Bangalore, and is involved in conducting workshops and lecture demonstrations, including working with children with special needs. He holds a PhD in Ayurveda Medicine from Sambalpur University and a Master's of Science in Yoga and Value Education from Annamalai University. He has founded the 'Dr. Biswajit Dash Centre for Odissi Dance and Culture', an institution dedicated to propagating Odissi dance and music and nurturing young talent. He currently serves as the head of the department of Panchakarma at Govt. Ayurvedic College, Balangir, Odisha. Awards & Honours: Odisha State Youth Award (2007), Nrityashri Samman, Utkal Santan Samman, Best Classical Dancer (2008), Odisha State Youth Award (2011), Sri Jayadeva Rashtriya Yuva Pratibha Puraskar (2019), Sangeet Ratna in Odissi Nritya with a Gold Medal.
