Brinda Avadhanam is an emerging Indian classical dancer specializing in Kuchipudi. She has been training in Kuchipudi for over 12 years under the tutelage of her mother and guru, Smt. Sireesha Avadhanam. Her training was further enriched by studying in India with renowned gurus such as Dr. Yamini Yashoda Kalluri and Dr. Haleem Khan. Brinda has successfully completed Kuchipudi Certification Courses from Potti Sriramulu University through Silicon Andhra University's SAMPADA program and continues to refine her skills in rhythm and musical precision under Guru Sri Renuka Prasad. Brinda has showcased her talent through numerous performances at various art festivals and cultural events across Southern California. Notably, in the summer of 2018, she had the honor of performing at the historic Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, and Shilparamam in Hyderabad, Telangana. Her dedication to the art form was recognized with the "Natya Siromani" award from Kalapeet. Beyond her performances, Brinda is actively involved in teaching and community outreach. She trains students at the Manjeera Academy of Dances in San Diego, California, where she nurtures a love for classical dance among younger learners. In Summer 2024, she led a community outreach program, introducing audiences at public libraries to various expressions of Kuchipudi Abhinaya.
