Devika Raghavan is a distinguished Bharatanatyam artist, teacher, and choreographer, based in Troy, Michigan, USA. She received her training from esteemed gurus Madurai T.G. Jayaraman and Smt. R. Rhadha. Raghavan is the founder and director of the Kalarasana Dance Academy, where she imparts her knowledge and passion for classical Indian dance. Her career spans numerous performances in both India and the United States, showcasing her versatility and dedication to the art form. She is recognized for her innovative choreographies, which often blend traditional Bharatanatyam with fusion styles, pushing artistic boundaries. Her original full-length productions include "Upaasana" (2003), "Paanchajanyam" (2005), "Amar Nrithya Katha" (2007), "Rudra" (2009), and "PanchaBhootham" (2009). Beyond her dance career, Devika Raghavan also holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Teaching and works as an educator with the Southfield Public Schools in Michigan. She has been honored with the Michigan Dance Council's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004 and the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana's 'Nritya Seva Mani Award' in 2010. She has also collaborated with other dance schools in productions like "Kshetra Nrityanjali" and performed with Sudha Chandrasekhar, including a notable appearance in a French Opera at the Fox Theatre.
