Divya Lee Nair is a performer and teacher primarily based in Malaysia, known for her work in contemporary dance, while also being a practitioner of Indian classical dance forms. Her journey in dance began at a young age, taking up ballet at four and continuing for 14 years. Although she initially considered careers outside of dance, her appreciation for movement and the expressive potential of the art form grew over time. Through observing performances and her own experiences, she developed a profound love for dance, recognizing it as an ongoing endeavor to balance physical, mental, and artistic capabilities with a sense of purpose. Divya Lee Nair has expanded her repertoire to include Indian classical dance styles, specifically Bharatanatyam and Odissi, which she studied under the guidance of the Sutra Foundation. The Sutra Foundation, founded by Datuk Ramli Ibrahim, is a prominent Indian classical dance company. As a performer and teacher, Divya Lee Nair contributes to the vibrant dance scene in Malaysia, engaging with both contemporary and classical Indian dance traditions.
