Divya Shreejit Kumar is a Bharatanatyam artist with a career spanning over 25 years in classical dance practice, encompassing performance, teaching, and choreography. Her foundational training in Bharatanatyam led her to complete a Master Diploma under the tutelage of Smt. Priya Dinesan. She also had a brief period of training in Mohiniyattam. After relocating to Melbourne, Australia, Divya Shreejit Kumar continued her dance education with Govind Pillai at Karma Dance. This advanced training culminated in her solo graduation performance in 2017. Currently, Divya Shreejit Kumar is actively involved in teaching Bharatanatyam. She imparts her knowledge at Studio J Dance in Melbourne, where she conducts classes for Bharatanatyam Beginner 1 and Bharatanatyam Beginner 2. Her teaching focuses on various interrelated aspects of the art form, including rhythm, notation, composition, and choreography. Through her dedication to both performing and teaching, Divya Shreejit Kumar contributes to the propagation of Indian classical dance in Australia.
