Hamsa is a keen explorer of the classical dance form of Bharathanatyam who loves to experiment within the traditional framework of the art form. She has won acclaim for her sensitive and in-depth portrayal of any subject that she chooses to present. Hamsa runs the Samskriti School of Dance in Sydney which is a creative hub of personalities nurturing dancers of all ages to look at dance as not merely a hobby or art form but a way of life. Her inate teaching qualities makes her sought after in the local community. The creative spirit of her choreography is most beautifully captured by this favourite quote of hers: "Some look at things that are, and ask why, I dream of things that never were and ask why not?” George Bernard ShawHamsa's relationship with the world of art and literature is not only through dance. She is also a teacher of English at Pymble Ladies College, Sydney.
