Gauri Bhatnagar is an accomplished Kathak dancer and teacher associated with the Chitresh Das Institute (CDI). She commenced her Kathak training at Pandit Chitresh Das' institution in 2006 at the age of six. By nine, in 2009, she successfully auditioned and was accepted into the institution's youth company. Bhatnagar has showcased her talent on numerous prestigious stages, including Davies Symphony Hall, the San Francisco Opera House, and Zellerbach Hall. Her performances also extend internationally, having danced with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble in Toronto and in Los Angeles. In 2019, she presented her Youth Company Senior Graduating Showcase performance, "Ritu Ke Rang," alongside her guru sisters Ishani Chakraborty, Ruchira Rao, and Atmika Sarukkai. That same year, she was scheduled to begin teaching at the Chitresh Das Institute in the fall. Further solidifying her dedication and skill in Kathak, Gauri Bhatnagar was a recipient of the CDI 2020-21 Kathak Fellowship, a program designed to provide advanced training and professional performance opportunities for dancers deeply rooted in the guru-shishya parampara (guru-disciple tradition).
