Harshitha Sanker's profound journey in Bharatanatyam commenced at the age of six, where she first received instruction under the esteemed Smt. Malavika Venkatasubbiah at the Natyam Dance Academy in Edmonton, Canada. Her foundational training in this classical Indian dance form laid the groundwork for her subsequent artistic growth. For over eleven years, Harshitha dedicated herself to the art at Laasya, flourishing under the rigorous and inspiring guidance of Guru Smt. Mridul Burgi. This extensive period of training was marked by unwavering dedication, which saw her develop into an accomplished performing artist. Beyond her personal performance journey, Harshitha also embraced the role of a student teacher, demonstrating her commitment to perpetuating the art form by sharing her love and knowledge with aspiring dancers. Her exploration of Bharatanatyam was further enriched by delving into the distinct Kalakshetra style, which she studied under Smt. Arundhati Singha John at the Nritta Dhyana Dance Academy in Kuwait. This diverse training broadened her understanding and technical repertoire within Bharatanatyam. Throughout her career, Harshitha has graced numerous stages, performing extensively at significant cultural celebrations. These include events such as the Chinook Culture Blast, the Rath Yatra, and the CBKM Chithirai Festival, where she has embodied the rich traditions of Bharatanatyam. A pivotal moment in her artistic development was her Bharatanatyam arangetram, a debut solo performance, which she successfully completed in May 2024. This event celebrated years of unwavering devotion and artistic maturation, marking her formal entry as a professional performer. Harshitha continues her artistic endeavors, striving to inspire future generations through her dedication to Bharatanatyam.
