🪔 About
Mridul Burgi is a passionate, elegant, and versatile dancer of Bharatanatyam, known for her mastery of both the Mysore and Pandanallur styles. Her journey in Bharatanatyam spans over three decades, marked by unwavering dedication and artistic excellence. Mridul received her training under the guidance of two eminent gurus: Guru Smt. Lalitha Srinivasan of Nupura, who imparted the Mysore style, and Prof. U.S. Krishna Rao of Maha Maya, from whom she learned the Pandanallur style. This dual training has enriched her dance with depth and versatility. In 1998, Mridul made her formal debut with her Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha in Bangalore, India. Her natural talent, perfected stamina, and versatile abhinaya (expressive acting) led her to perform at various dance festivals and events across India, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, captivating audiences with her love for dance. In 2008, Mridul Burgi immigrated to Canada and embarked on a new chapter, founding “Laasya” in Calgary. Her vision for Laasya was to promote the rich and vibrant Indian culture embedded in the traditional classical dance form of Bharatanatyam. As a revered teacher and cultural ambassador, she has built Laasya into a top-class dance academy, demonstrating unwavering dedication to Bharatanatyam. Through Laasya, Mridul has trained over 75 students over the past 15 years, deriving a sense of achievement from seeing them blossom through sustained dedication, passion, and perseverance. She continues to teach on weekdays and weekends, enriching the lives of her students and the community.
