Kadam Parikh is a prominent Indian Kathak dancer, born on December 11, 1984, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He received his formal training in Kathak dance from renowned gurus Shri Maulik Shah and Shrimati Ishira Parikh. Parikh is recognized for his exceptional command over the Kathak medium and his innovative approach to presentation, embodying both grace and masculinity in his performances. He is a lead dancer of the Aanart Dance Company and serves as a faculty member at the Aanart School of Kathak Dance. Additionally, he holds positions as a Visiting Faculty at the JG College of Performing Arts and Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, for their Bachelor's programmes in Kathak and performing arts, respectively. Kadam Parikh is also a graded artist of Doordarshan. He often performs duets with his wife, Raina Parikh, who is also a Kathak dancer and a disciple of the same gurus. Beyond his dance career, he holds a Master's in Business Administration. Parikh's performances are noted for their precision, stylishness, and powerful execution, often incorporating unique elements like leaps and knee bends not typically seen in traditional Kathak. He has choreographed and presented various pieces, including a Krishna pad, a pure nritta piece called Yugm, and an ode to Lord Shiva titled 'Gangadhar'.
