Lakshmi Bhavani Konduru is a dedicated performer, teacher, and follower of the Indian classical dance form, Kuchipudi, with over 20 years of experience in practicing, performing, and teaching. She began her Kuchipudi training under the legendary Padma Bhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam garu at the Kuchipudi Art Academy in Hyderabad from 1980-1981. She continued her training under Sri Chinta Adinarayana Sarma garu from 1988-1990, and still continues to train under him. She also trained under Sri Mahankali Mohan garu from 1990-1995. Lakshmi Bhavani earned a Master of Performing Arts (Kuchipudi Dance) from the University of Hyderabad in 1997, where she further refined her skills under gurus such as Dr. Sri Nataraja Ramakrishna, Dr. PSR Appa Rao, Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, and Sri Kala Krishna, among others. She has performed in various Indian cities under the auspices of cultural organizations including Sangeet Natak Academy, Kinnera Arts, Sri Siddhendra Kalakshetram – Kuchipudi, and Ujwala Kala Samithi. Her performances also include appearances on Doordarshan, India's state-run TV channel. In December 2010, she performed at the 2nd International Convention of Kuchipudi Dance in Hyderabad, an event recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for its 2800 participants. Lakshmi Bhavani is also a keen dance critic, having written several review articles on dance performances for the Deccan Chronicle daily in Hyderabad. She utilizes dance movements as a therapeutic technique for children with special needs. Awards & Honours: Natya Mayuri Award.
