Machiko Lakshmi is a Japanese Bharatanatyam dancer who moved to India in 1987 to pursue her training in the classical Indian dance form. Since then, she has been actively involved in teaching Bharatanatyam in the Kanto region of Japan. Her dedication to the art form has led her to nurture the next generation of dancers in Japan. One of her notable students, Kasai Erina, has gone on to establish and lead the Takadimi Academy, continuing the legacy of Bharatanatyam education.
