Manasi Kar is an accomplished Indian classical dancer primarily known for her Kathak performances and scholarship. She holds a Ph.D. in Dance and received her training from the esteemed Kadamb Dance Academy. Kar was a recipient of the Spic-Macay 'Gurukul Scholarship,' which she successfully completed under the guidance of the world-renowned Kathak maestro, Pandit Birju Maharaj ji. She also acknowledges Smt. Shilpi Mukherjee as her Guru. Her training further includes exposure to other notable Kathak figures such as Pt. Rajendra Gangani, Smt. Shama Bhate, Smt. Rekha Nadgauda, Smt. Manisha Sathe, Guru Munna ji Shukla, and Dr. Malabika Mitra through various workshops. Manasi Kar has performed traditional Kathak items, showcasing technique and variety, and has also presented a dance ballet titled 'Tuka Mhane' alongside Arundhati. Beyond performing, she has contributed to dance education by conducting lectures on 'Aesthetics of Dance' for ATD (Art Teacher Diploma) students in Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur.
