Manjari Rajendra Kumar, a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher, is the daughter and disciple of the renowned Prof. C.V. Chandrasekhar and Mrs. Jaya Chandrasekhar. She has cultivated a significant career spanning over two decades, performing in major festivals both within India and internationally. Her artistic contributions are well-regarded for their quality and content, with notable works including "Yashodhara," "Ushas," "Ahalya," "Rati – A journey," "Chandrodayam," and "Pari – the unflinching giver from the pura nanooru." Manjari performs and imparts her knowledge of Bharatanatyam at Nrityashree, an institution that upholds the high standards established by her parents. Her husband, R. Rajendra Kumar, actively contributes to her artistic endeavors by providing valuable literary inputs, drawing from his deep appreciation for music and Tamil literature. While her father, Prof. C.V. Chandrasekhar, has directed dance departments at universities in Vadodara and Varanasi, and she has presented lec-dems in Chennai, the Nrityashree Classical Dance Academy, where she teaches, has established locations in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Manjari continues to be an active figure in the Indian classical dance scene, carrying forward her family's legacy in Bharatanatyam.
