She has trained under the renowned Kathak legend Kumudini Lakhia, the founder and director of Kadamb, an institution recognized globally for its contributions to Kathak dance. Dhruva is an integral part of Kadamb's performing ensemble and has showcased her artistry in numerous significant productions choreographed by Kumudini Lakhia. Her performances include "Barse Badariya," where she recapitulated and emoted the feelings of Meera awaiting Krishna during the rainy season, alongside other dancers. She was also a featured dancer in "Meraki," a production that explored themes of identity and connection through Kathak. In 2006, Mitali Dhruva, along with Rupanshi Kashyap and Rohit Parihar, presented "Upaj," a groundbreaking piece where three dancers created intricate bol patterns to composed music, demonstrating her choreographic involvement and technical prowess.
