Namrata Mehta is a distinguished Indian classical Odissi dancer based in Mumbai, India. She is a senior disciple of the esteemed Odissi dance Guru, Smt. Daksha Mashruwala, and serves as the assistant director of Kaishiki Nrityabhasha, an institution dedicated to preserving and promoting Odissi dance. Mehta holds a diploma in Nrityashastra from the Nalanda Dance Research Institute and a Master's in Performing Arts – Odissi from Mumbai University. Recognized as one of the finest dancers of her generation, Namrata Mehta is an artist graded by Doordarshan and an empanelled artist with the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India. Her career spans over two decades, during which she has captivated audiences at prestigious festivals both in India and internationally. She has also conducted numerous lec-dems and Odissi dance workshops across India and abroad, including as part of the SPICMACAY workshop demonstration series. As a choreographer, Mehta has conceptualized innovative dance productions such as “SAMAGAM- Merge To Emerge,” a collaboration with folk dancer Vaishali Sagar, and “Arksh – Exploring the Zodiacs through movement and music”. More recently, she premiered "Ayudha – The Divine Arms" in 2026, exploring the symbolic meanings of divine weapons through dance. She also revived and performed her production "Crossing Oceans" in 2026, which explores Greek, Japanese, and Australian Aboriginal mythologies. At Kaishiki Nrityabhasha, she plays a vital role in training aspiring Odissi dancers and assists her guru in choreographic and administrative tasks.
