Poonam Narkar is an Indian classical Kathak dancer and teacher based in the United States. She commenced her Kathak training in 2007 at the Chhandam School of Kathak. From 2010, she received direct training under the renowned Guru Pandit Chitresh Das. Following his passing, Narkar continued her training under the mentorship of senior artist Seibi Lee. Her performance career includes her debut Kathak solo in 2017. She has also performed in significant productions by the Chitresh Das Dance Company, such as "Ramayan," "Darbar," "Sita Haran," and "Shiva," as well as in various Arts education programs of the Chhandam School. Additionally, she performed in the Leela Dance Collective's production "Son of the Wind." Poonam Narkar began her teaching career in 2010, and she previously held roles as a branch director and School Programs Manager for the Chhandam School of Kathak. She currently serves as faculty at the Leela Institute of Kathak in San Francisco.
