Pritam Das is an eminent Indian classical dancer, teacher, and choreographer, primarily recognized for his Bharatanatyam performances, with additional training in Odissi. He commenced his Bharatanatyam training at the tender age of four. His initial gurus include Smt. Jayita Ghosh and Sri Samrat Dutta. For approximately eight years, as of 2024, he has been a disciple of the revered Smt. Rama Vaidyanathan of Ganesa Natyalaya. He further expanded his knowledge by delving into Natyashastra with Kalamandalam Piyal and refining his Carnatic vocal skills at Guruguha Gana Vidyalaya. Academically, Pritam Das holds dual Master's degrees: one in Accounts and Finance from the University of Calcutta and another in Bharatanatyam from Rabindra Bharati University. He has achieved significant recognition, including the 'Nritya Visharad' (Gold Medallist) from Pracheen Kala Kendra and SSOSP, and a Senior National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture. He is also an 'A' Grade Artiste with Prasar Bharati (Doordarshan Kendra). His awards include the Sanjukta Panigrahi Smriti Award and the Yuva Gandharva Purashkar. As an empanelled artist with SPICMACAY, Pritam Das actively shares his expertise through workshops and performances. Known for his striking stage presence, agile movements, precise footwork, and profound abhinaya, Pritam Das has garnered critical acclaim for his performances. Notable performances include the Music Academy's dance festival in January 2024, the IIC Winter Dance Festival in December 2024, and a performance at the Stein auditorium in Delhi in June 2024. He has also performed and conducted workshops at institutions such as FS University in November 2023. He has been actively involved in teaching Bharatanatyam for over a decade, offering both in-person and online classes.
