Radhika Joshi is a professional Kathak dancer, teacher, choreographer, and entrepreneur. She began her Kathak training at the age of six and performed her first solo at ten. While initially pursuing a degree in Computer Science, she later completed her graduation in Kathak, earning a 'Visharad' from Akhil Gandharva Mahavidyalay. Her training encompassed diverse influences, including early instruction, studies at Nrityabharati (founded by Kathak legend Pandita Rohini Bhate), and tutelage under Guru Archana Joglekar and Guru Aabha Wamburkar. In 2006, Radhika Joshi founded the Nupoor Dance School, an institution dedicated to teaching Indian classical Kathak dance. The school has since expanded to three locations across two states in the USA and offers comprehensive training from elementary to Bachelor levels. She has been teaching Kathak for over fifteen years, having trained more than a hundred students. Her curriculum at Nupoor Dance School incorporates a blend of Lucknow and Jaipur Gharana styles, focusing on intricate footwork, graceful movements, and expressive storytelling. As a performer, Radhika Joshi has graced various stages, including The Girnar Mahotsav in 2018 and performances for "Incredible India" organized by MTDC. She has also performed for the ballet KAVYAM, based on the love of Radha Krishna, and at the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple during its 100th year of Samadhi Mahotsav, alongside Guru Harshada Jambekar. Her competitive achievements include being a semi-finalist at the Maharashtra Utsav in 2016 and a finalist at the Rang Vaikhari Competition. Beyond performing and teaching, she serves as an official examiner for the 'Samved Conservatory of Indian Classical Music and Dance' and has judged numerous classical and semi-classical dance competitions.
