Radhika Shurajith is a highly renowned Indian classical dancer, teacher, choreographer, media visualiser, and television director, primarily celebrated for her contributions to Bharatanatyam. She is the eldest of the acclaimed "Trio Sisters" and a distinguished senior disciple of the legendary dancing couple The Dhananjayans and Padmabhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan. Her extensive training also includes classical Carnatic music, and she is proficient in performing Nattuvangam and conducting dance recitals. With over 30 years of experience, Radhika Shurajith has performed across India and at numerous international festivals in countries such as Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Germany, Russia (formerly USSR), USA, Iraq, the Middle East, South America, and Australia, often alongside her sisters, Ms. Gayathri Krishnamurthy and Ms. Shobana Bhalchandra. She has conducted numerous lecture demonstrations and art workshops for various organizations and educational institutions. Since 1987, she has been an empanelled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, representing India at international festivals. Radhika Shurajith founded "Thrayee" - School of Bharathanatyam in Chennai, where she imparts training to many students from India and abroad. She is recognized as a trendsetter in creating dance productions for stage, television, and film. She conceived, visualized, and directed "Thaka Dhimi Tha," a popular and pioneering Bharatanatyam game show on Jaya TV, which completed over 500 episodes and won a National RAPA Award for Best Television Dance show. Her work in television also includes directing and choreographing for international networks like BBC and channels in the US, South America, and Singapore. She has choreographed dance sequences for several Tamil films, including 'Indira,' 'Om Saravanabhava,' 'Swarnamukhi,' and 'Bharathi,' and has collaborated with renowned composers such as Ilaiyaraja and A. R. Rehman. Radhika Shurajith has also served as the Convener for the Natya Darshan dance seminar by Kartik Fine Arts for three consecutive years and is currently the President of the Madras Chapter of the International Dance Alliance (NY). Awards & Honours: Kala Seva Bharathi, Honorary Citizen Award from Oklahoma State University, USA, Best Choreographed award for the Song 'Nilaa Kaigiradhu' from the Film Indira, Bharatha Kala Vibhushana, Nritya Vidya Ratna, Best Dance Guru Award from The Music Academy, Chennai, Excellence Award from Rotary Club of Coimbatore, Natya Peroli, Natya Poorna, Yuva Kala Vipanchee, Nrithya Kala Sironmani, Nrithya Shiromani title by the Chennai Cultural Academy Trust (2018), Acharya Choodamani title by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, National RAPA Award for the best Television Dance show (for 'Thaka Dhimi Tha'), GLOBAL ACHIEVER AWARD at the House of Parliament in London (2019).
