Rajdeep Banerjee is a distinguished exponent of Bharatanatyam, recognized as a prominent guru and performer in the Indian classical dance landscape, particularly in Kolkata. He received his initial training in Bharatanatyam as an apprentice under Srimati Pushpa Chatterjee. He further honed his skills under Srimati Ganga Thampi, who was instrumental in developing the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam. Currently, he continues his artistic journey under the guidance of Sri C.V. Chandrasekhar, an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, scholar, composer, and choreographer. In 2005, driven by a vision to popularize Bharatanatyam within Bengali culture and to revitalize classical dance in West Bengal, Rajdeep Banerjee founded the Parampara Institute of Dance in Uttarpara, Kolkata. The institute, which follows the Kalakshetra style, has since grown into a vibrant cultural institution dedicated to providing high-quality dance education and professional training. As the Founder Director and Principal, Banerjee has tirelessly worked for over two decades to promote India's rich cultural heritage among his students through various events, workshops, and training programs. He emphasizes not only the entertainment value of dance but also its educational, cultural, and transformative aspects, encouraging students to explore creativity and self-expression. Under his leadership, Parampara has produced talented classical dancers who have performed extensively across India and internationally, including in Bangladesh, Delhi, Odisha, Mumbai, Tripura, Mangalore, and Hyderabad.
