Rani Balakrishna is an Indian classical dancer who performed her Arangetram on August 12, 2018, following ten years of intensive training at the Triveni School of Dance in Brookline, Massachusetts, USA. Her debut performance showcased her proficiency in three classical dance forms: Odissi, Bharatanatyam, and Kuchipudi. A significant highlight of her Arangetram was a Kuchipudi Tillana, in which she performed alongside her mother, Rachna Balakrishna, and her grandmother, Neena Gulati, who is the founder and director of the Triveni School of Dance. Balakrishna's training encompassed intricate footwork, fluid body movements, symbolic hand gestures, and expressive facial and eye movements. She also demonstrated her skill by dancing on the rim of a brass plate. In addition to her dance pursuits, Rani Balakrishna has been recognized for her community engagement, receiving the 2020 New Voice Award from the Brookline Asian American Family Network. She has expressed her commitment to sharing her artistic knowledge with her peers and community as she continues her professional artistic journey. Awards & Honours: New Voice Award (2020).
