Dr. Rashmi Rekha Das is an acclaimed and internationally renowned Odissi dancer, trainer, academician, and researcher. Her early training in Odissi was under legendary gurus, including the late Padmabibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. She holds multiple M.A. degrees in Odissan Studies, Odissi Dance, and Yogic Science, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Odissi Dance, in addition to a B.A. in Odissi Vocal. Dr. Das has made significant contributions to classical dance as a performer, teacher, and institution builder. She is a founder member and former Head of the Department of Performing Arts at Sri Sri University, where she also serves as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator in the School of Performing Arts, Faculty of Arts and Communication, and Indic Studies. She has been teaching Odissi dance since 2010 and is also a certified yoga trainer under the Ministry of AYUSH, passionately promoting the integration of Yoga and Odissi dance. Her innovative choreographies, such as "Navadhabhakti" and "Sapta Tanda," have received critical acclaim. She has performed globally in countries including Italy, Canada, South Africa, and Brazil. Dr. Das is also an A-grade Doordarshan artist and was the All India Co-ordinator for Odissi Dance at the World Culture Festival. She is also the Secretary of the Swarnachal Dance Academy. Her research contributions include co-authoring the book "YOGA AND ODISSI DANCE: Exploring Tradition, Technique, Transformation, and Universal Benefits" in 2024.
