Shemoni Parekh is the Artistic Director of Kruti Dance Academy, a prominent Indian dance institution based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She specializes in Bharatanatyam, Bollywood, Fusion, and Folk dance, and has been teaching for over 10 years since completing her Bharatanatyam Arangetram ceremony in 2001. Parekh's choreography has garnered national attention, with her work and that of Kruti Dance Academy featured on major platforms. She led a Kruti team that reached the Top 25 Wildcard Round on America's Got Talent in 2010, where they were notably recognized as Piers Morgan's favorite act. She also guided a Kruti team to the finals of Chak Dhoom Dhoom, an international dance reality television show in India, securing ninth place among over 5,000 competing teams. Additionally, Parekh served as an assistant choreographer to Longinus Fernandes for an opening Bollywood number on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Her choreographic and costume design talents were also showcased in Kruti Dance Academy's routine for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Shemoni Parekh joined her mother, Dina Sheth, the Founder and Director of Kruti Dance Academy, full-time as creative director in 2009. She began her dance training at the age of two under her mother's tutelage. Before dedicating herself entirely to dance, Parekh pursued an Industrial Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and worked as a consultant with IBM for two years.
