Smt. Anila Haridas is a dedicated Bharatanatyam dancer and a highly respected teacher, known for founding the Noopura School of Bharatanatyam, also referred to as Noopura Nrithavidyalaya, in the Atlanta area, USA. Her mission through the school is to preserve and practice the traditional art of Bharatanatyam in its authentic form, teaching and inspiring children and adults alike. Anila Haridas received her Bharatanatyam training under the tutelage of esteemed gurus Smt. Kalamandalam Seetha Warrier, Sri Baskar Sreedar, and Smt. Anandi Krishnamoorty. Her career as a performer is extensive, having graced over 200 stages at various cultural events, including the Gowri-National Cultural Festival, Swaralaya Fest, and Consumers' Association-NGO. She has also been invited as a judge for numerous dance performances at district and state levels. As an educator, Smt. Anila Haridas is described as very knowledgeable, patient, and organized. Her teaching methodology is characterized by in-depth explanations and storytelling, where she meticulously emphasizes the correct points of each posture and movement in Bharatanatyam. She is deeply dedicated to her profession and excels at teaching students of all ages, from young children to adults who are passionate about learning dance. The Noopura School of Bharatanatyam has been providing teaching services for 11 years, operating in both India and the USA (Atlanta). Under her guidance, the school has successfully conducted many Arangetrams and its students have performed at various prestigious dance programs. In September 2024, students from Noopura School of Bharatanatyam, led by Smt. Anila Haridas, participated in the 'Navarasam' event in Atlanta, depicting Hasyam (humor) through their performance.
